AP Dr. Irene has held different positions in her academic career, which are Head of Department,
Dean, Head of Teaching and Learning and Pro VC of Student Experience. Currently, she is the
Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic for Veritas University College.
Her professional interests include designing and conducting training programmes such as Outcome-
based Education, Writing good assignments and assessments, Qualitative Research, etc. In addition,
her areas of research interest are in teaching and learning, internationalizing higher education,
comparative education, college student development, and leadership.
She is committed to the development of the understanding of qualitative methodology as a former
President, committee member and current Vice President 2 of Qualitative Research Association
Malaysia. In addition, she is contributing her time to help the local community with academic staff
development as well as teaching in a programme in Uganda.
