Jonathan F. Mattanah, Ph.D.

    Dr. Mattanah is a professor of psychology and director of the master’s program in clinical psychology at Towson University, outside of Baltimore, Maryland. He has been a professor at Towson for 22 years, after completing his graduate training in clinical psychology at the University of California at Berkeley. Professor Mattanah’s research has focused on the adjustment challenges of young, emerging adults making the transition to college. He has completed numerous studies on this topic and has written two books focused on college student psychological adjustment. More recently, he has turned his attention to examining the professor-student relationship and how qualities of that relationship impact students’ ability to engage in the classroom and master course content.
