Gun Violence Prevention: The Unheard Voices
Kara Snider is a graduate student at Southern Oregon University in the Master of Arts in Teaching program. She is currently student teaching at a kindergarten classroom at Talent Elementary School in Talent, Oregon. Kara is applying to school psychology doctoral programs to research crisis prevention and resilience. Within the domain of this research, there are several areas Kara is interested in pursuing: school safety through student voice and choice, social emotional awareness and regulation, trauma informed practices, suicide prevention, gun violence prevention, and the impacts of cyberbullying on the mental health of adolescent students. Her long term goals are to continue this research and to teach in higher education. She lives in Ashland, Oregon with her husband, son, and a cat that has recently adopted her family.
