Supporting Principal Candidates through the Pandemic via Distance Learning
Kym Acuña, EdD, is an associate professor of Educational Leadership at Midwestern State University. She is the West Professor of Educational Leadership and the coordinator of both the masters and doctoral programs in Educational Leadership at MSUTexas. She received her doctorate in educational leadership, administration, and policy from Pepperdine University, master’s in education from the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Zacatecas, Mexico, and her bachelor of arts in sociology and political science from Ouachita Baptist University.
Previously, she lived in Zacatecas, Mexico where she was a junior high school principal, high school teacher, and adjunct university professor. There she taught courses in ESL, ethics, community service and civic engagement, critical and creative thinking, and multicultural understanding.
