Dr. Melissa Cheese, is an Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Academic Enrichment at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. She has over twenty years’ experience as an administrator and educator in higher education. Her research interests include directed self-placement for first-year students, reading comprehension and metacognition, culturally relevant pedagogy, mindfulness awareness and practices, training and programming to support diversity, equity, and inclusion, and other high-impact educational practices to promote student success and retention of diverse student populations.
