Yune Tran, Ph.D.

A Seamless Transition from Associate's to Bachelor's Degrees in Teacher Education

    Yune Tran is an Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in the College of Education and Human Services at Montclair State University. After spending 12 years in K-12 as a teacher and district leader, she transitioned into higher education in 2011 to serve as a faculty member and academic administrator in various contexts. Dr. Tran has extensive experience creating and innovating programs related to equity, access, and success for underrepresented populations across P-20 platforms. Her background in teacher preparation for pedagogically-sound practices to effectively serve diverse students and families has intersected widely in publications and presentations such as Handbook of Research on Equity and Computer Science in P-16, Journal of Higher Education Theory and Practice, The Journal of Educational Computing Research, Multicultural Education Review, Journal of Education and Learning, Improving Schools Journal, the American Education Research Association (AERA), and the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE). Dr. Tran received a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Texas at Austin, an MEd in Educational Leadership from Texas State University, and a BS in Child Development and Family Relations from The University of Texas at Austin.
